Elkridge Shell Held Up at Gunpoint

No one was injured in the Tuesday evening robbery.

The Elkridge  on Washington Boulevard at Montgomery Road was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday night, said police.

The hold-up occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Aug. 23.

"Two suspects entered [and] demanded money from the lone clerk," said Sherry Llewellyn, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department. "One had a handgun, took money from the register and fled."

According to Llewellyn, the suspects are two white males, approximately 5'8" to 5'10" and about 175 pounds.

This was the second time the gas station had been robbed in the past two months. On June 19, an employee at the Elkridge Shell station was held up at knifepoint, according to police.

In that robbery, which took place at approximately 8:30 p.m., two suspects approached an employee, displayed a knife, demanded cash and fled the scene, said police.

Both suspects in the June 19 robbery were reported as white males, between 5'6" and 5'8", wearing black knit hats; one had a thin build, according to the report, while the other had a heavy build and wore a stocking over his face.
