Father Charged With Shaking Baby Girl To Death
Police believe that the father shook his 6-week-old daughter to stop her from crying.
An Elkridge man has been charged with shaking his 6-week-old daughter to death, according to Howard County police.
Aron James Krampf, 26, of 6270 Ducketts Lane in Elkridge, was charged Wednesday night with first- and second-degree assault, child abuse and reckless endangerment.
The child died Thursday morning as a result of her injuries, and murder charges are likely to be added, police said.
Police and paramedics were called to Krampf’s home Tuesday around 12:45 p.m. for a report of an unconscious infant who was not breathing. Krampf’s daughter was transported to Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital, according to police.
Police said they believe that Krampf shook the baby to stop her from crying. The infant suffered numerous critical injuries, including brain hemorrhaging and fractures throughout her body, according to police.
Krampf is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on a $1 million bond. The case will go before a grand jury later this month.
