The Howard County Police Department said officials have a suspect in custody in connection with a homicide in Dayton that occurred Friday.
At 3 p.m. on Friday, police responded to the 4900 block of Ten Oaks Road for a report of shots fired and found a man dead in an outbuilding, according to a report from police.
Based on preliminary investigation, police said that the man and an acquaintance got into a brief confrontation, then the acquaintance shot the victim.
The victim is not being identified until next of kin are notified, police said.
Police arrested an individual in a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle provided by a witness, according to the report. The suspect will be identified once charges are filed, police said.
