Elkridge

Residential burglary

Tires and wheels were stolen from a residential home used to store car parts in the 8100 block of Washington Blvd. between July 24 to Aug. 8.

Columbia

Indecent exposure at the pool

A man exposing himself was sitting on a stairway balcony overlooking the community pool in the 7600 block of Monarch Mills Way around 7 p.m. on Aug. 2. When a security guard attempted to confront the man, he ran away. 

Residential garage burglary

Two mountain bikes were stolen from a residence in the 6000 block of Jamina Downs overnight on Aug. 6 – 7 after the garage door was left open.

Residential burglary

Someone broke the rear sliding door of a residence with a rock and stole a gaming system from a residence in the 5100 block of Dawn Marie Ct. sometime between July 11 and Aug. 7. 

Residential burglary

A woman returned to her apartment in the 5700 block of Harpers Choice Road on August 5 at about 6:45 p.m. and found the back sliding door was broken. A television was reported stolen.

Robbery

Police say a person who had just cashed his check had called his friend to take him to a party on August 6 at just before midnight. The friend told him he would pick him up. The victim got a call at midnight from someone saying the friend was outside of the victim’s apartment, in the 10800 block of Green Mountain Circle. When he went outside, the victim saw a vehicle with two strangers inside. They told him to get in the car to go to the party. When the victim got in the car, one of the men motioned so suggest he had a gun in his waistband. The two men in the car told the victim to empty his pockets – he handed over money and his cell phone and was allowed to leave the vehicle. He went home and called police. 

Ellicott City

Clerk stays safe in attempted armed robbery

Police say a black male, about 5-foot-10, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and black shoes entered the Crown Station in the 8500 block of Baltimore National Pike around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 8 and approached the clerk. When he got to the counter, he pointed a gun at the clerk, who was in a locked booth. The clerk told the man he was calling police and retreated into a room behind the booth. At that time the suspect left the store, taking nothing. 

North Laurel 

Commercial burglary

Someone entered a room at the Valencia Motel, in the 10100 block of Washington Boulevard, between August 4 at 8 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. the next day.  A wallet was reported stolen. 

Residential burglary

The front door was removed from a residence in the unit block of Ruth Avenue sometime between 5 p.m. August 4 and 3:45 p.m. the next day. Holes were punched in the drywall, a counter and sink were broken and a sink and toilet were torn down and knocked over.

Residential burglary

Someone broke the rear glass door of a residence in the 9300 block of Decatur Rd. to gain entry to a house, then stole cash and an electronic gaming system sometime during the day on Aug. 8.

Savage

Antique store burglary

Gold and platinum rings were stolen from an antique store; despite motion and glass break alarms being activated, inside Savage Mill. Someone likely jumped over a locked gate on the second floor and walked down a staircase to the Antique Store around 3 a.m. on Aug. 8. 

Stolen weapons

A man said someone he knew entered his apartment and stole a handgun and a pistol from his residence in the 8800 block of Baltimore St. sometime between Aug. 3 and Aug. 7. There were no signs of forced entry at the apartment.

Countywide vehicle thefts/attempted thefts 

A white 1998 Chevy 3500 with no tags was stolen from the 7300 block of Washington Boulevard on August 2 at about 2 p.m. 

A 2013 Suzuki motorcycle was stolen from the 9100 block of Thamesmeade Road on August 3 at about 6 a.m.

A black 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen from the 9000 block of Thamesmeade Road on August 3. 

A 2008 Suzuki motorcycle was stolen from the 9200 block of Howland Road on August 4 at about 1:30 p.m.
