Two Charged in Elkridge Liquor Store Burglary: Howard County Crime Blotter

Police arrest two after liquor store burglary

Two people were arrested and charged with burglary after police found evidence from Skylight Liquors on Montgomery Road in their SUV during a traffic stop. Police responding to an alarm around 5 a.m. on Jan. 12 at the business saw two people fleeing from the back and saw an SUV speeding away from a nearby apartment complex. Dimitrius Stevenson, 20, of Washington, D.C. and Vanessa Lee, 36, of Capital Heights were arrested.

Tires stolen

Someone broke into a garage in the 6500 block of Washington Blvd. and stole tires overnight on Jan. 8 - 9.

Front door broken, residence burglarized

Jewelry and electronics were missing from a residence in the 6300 block of Ducketts Lane after a resident found the front door broken at 6:50 a.m. on Jan. 7.

Ellicott City


Knife-wielding man steals purse

A woman was approached in the 3300 block of North Chatham Road by a man armed with a knife. The man took the woman's purse and fled on foot around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 9.

West Friendship


Attempted armed robbery foiled

An armed robbery was thwarted at a High's Convenience Store in the 12700 block of Frederick Road when the clerk declined to provide cash to a person armed with a gun around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 10. The armed suspect fled the store empty-handed.

Clarksville


Roots Market robbery

An employee at Roots Market in Clarksville Square was robbed of a wallet and cell phone after being confronted by a suspect with a handgun around 7:40 a.m. on Jan. 12. Police did not provide a suspect description.

Columbia


Possibly intoxicated woman behaves erratically in neighbor's residence

A 33-year-old Columbia woman was charged with fourth-degree burglary, endangerment due to intoxication and disorderly conduct after police reported she entered a neighbor's residence in the 12000 block of Little Patuxent Parkway. A child let the woman in, after she knocked around 8 p.m. on Jan. 11. An adult resident did not know the woman and called police after the woman started behaving erratically.

Firearms stolen from Thunder Hill Road residence

Firearms were stolen from a residence in the 5300 block of Thunder Hill Road during the day on Jan. 9 after someone forced open a side door to the garage.
Plumbing damaged at Peralynna Inn

Someone entered unoccupied rooms at Peralynna Inn and tampered with bathroom plumbing causing extensive damage. There were no signs of forced entry and police are investigating. The incident was late reported on Jan. 11.

Three juveniles 12, 13, 13 arrested 

Three juveniles ages 12, 13, and 13, were arrested after a resident confronted them and they fled from an unlocked home in the 5200 block of Rivendell Rd. around 3 p.m. on Jan. 7. 

Burglar smashes window, takes TV

Someone smashed the ground floor window of an apartment in the 9600 block of Whiteacre Road and stole a TV from the residence during the night of Jan. 11.

Destroyed property

Police arrested a 25-year-old man and charged him with burglary and destruction of property after he entered an apartment on Airybrink Lane around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 12 and destroyed property.

Butane torch and electronics stolen

A butane torch and electronics were reported stolen from a storage unit in the 10300 block of Swift Stream Place on Jan. 9.


Laurel


Resident confronts three people in garage

A resident confronted three people inside a garage in the 8700 block of Lake Edge Drive around 10 p.m. on Jan. 11. The suspects fled, but a pair of sunglasses was reported stolen. One of the suspects, Donte Vaughn, 20, of Laurel, was arrested and charged with burglary.

Woman awakened by burglar in her bedroom

Police arrested a 27-year-old Laurel man after a woman awoke to a man in her bedroom around 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 9 at a residence in the 9500 block of Kings Grant Road. The woman ran from her bedroom and the man fled the house. Police were able to find the man, and the woman identified him as the suspect. Eard Muhammed Lucas, of Laurel, was charged with burglary, theft, assault and disorderly conduct.
