Law Enforcement Procession Rolls Through Elkridge

The procession kicks off National Police Week, from May 13 to 19.


Police blocked off parts of Route 1 on Sunday as officers ran from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C.

Runners representing several law enforcement agencies ran various portions of the 160-mile route to honor those who have fallen.

May 13 is the first day of National Police Week, which ends May 19. Its highilght is May 15, marking Memorial Day for police, when the nation honors those among law enforcement who have made the ultiimate sacrifice.

In Howard County, on May 21, 2011, during an attempted traffic stop on I-95 near MD Route 32.

Sunday's run will end at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C., where there will be a candlight vigil at 7 p.m. to remember the fallen.
