Loved Ones Hold Vigil for Teen Killed in Lawyers Hill Crash

A vigil was held Saturday to remember Jeffrey Ryan Giles, 19, of Linthicum, who died in a car crash in Elkridge Friday night.

Following a , about 150 people gathered at  in Glen Burnie on Saturday evening to remember Jeffrey Ryan Giles, 19, of Linthicum, who graduated from the school in 2010, according to The Capital.

Giles was one of  in Elkridge when the car they and three others were traveling in hit a tree, said Howard County police.

Giles and Jonathon Lloyd Deckman, 18, of Severn, were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

Another vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Community Church (HCC) in Severn for Deckman, according to the church's website.

"HCC Family, be sure of this truth; Jesus said that in this world we will have trouble, and losing a child is at the very top of the trouble list," wrote the Rev. Steve Hall, lead pastor at HCC. "However, we do not live as those who have no hope, for Jesus continued his commentary on trouble by affirming that we need not fear this world’s trouble for he has overcome the world."
