Would-Be Elkridge Intruder Leaves Tool Behind

The following information was provided by the Howard County Police Department.

A woman living in Lyndwood off Marshalee Drive reported to police that someone tried to break into her townhome, leaving damage to the door frame and deadbolt.

Howard County police said that the woman heard the doorbell ring, then a loud banging that sounded like kicking at the door at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

The woman, who had been in the basement, "ran up the stairs yelling" and looked through the front door peephole, according to police; she said she saw someone leaving her home on the 5900 block of Meadow Rose.

Police said that it appeared the person left a "prying object" in the deadbolt. There is no suspect at this time, according to the Howard County Police Department.
