Man Attacked on U.S. 1; Cell Phone Taken: Howard County Crime Reports

Elkridge

Robbery/ Assault

A man found in the 6200 block of Sandrise Court was bleeding from his mouth and moaning. He said he was jumped by three people while walking along U.S. 1 near the Elkridge Library sometime early in the morning on April 19. The man said the attackers took his cell phone. Police reported he was punched in the face and stomach.

Two men met an unknown female in a parking lot in the 5600 block of Harpers Farm Road around 8:45 p.m. on April 16. The female asked if the men could walk her home, which they agreed to do. While doing so, one of the men was attacked by 10 to 15 men, according to police. The group of men stole his wallet, cell phone and keys. The victim had minor cuts to his face due to the attack.

Residential Burglary

Desk drawers were rifled through inside a house in the 7600 block of Sweet Hours Way, but nothing was reported stolen after someone broke in by smashing a front glass door sometime during the day on April 18.

Attempted Break-in

Scuff marks were found on a backyard gate and pry marks were discovered on two rear ground level doors, but no entry was made to a house in the 5400 block of Wild Turkey Lane sometime in the past two months, reported police.

Ellicott City

Residential Burglary

A known person took two rings from a jewelry box in the 3700 block of Old Columbia Pike around 9 a.m. on April 16. Police are investigating.

Woodstock

Robbery

Two people were returning to a house in the 10300 block of Wetherburn Road when three other people approached one of the residents, grabbed a reusable grocery bag filled with cash, ran toward a vehicle driven by a fourth man and fled. Police did not provide detailed descriptions of possible suspects.

Jessup

Commercial Burglary

Someone cut a fence to Alliance Material Handling in the 8300 block of Sherwick Court sometime between April 12 and April 13 and stole metal from the rear of the building.

Commercial Burglary

The front door glass was broken to Spring Wireless in the 7300 block of Assateague Drive and cabinets filled with cell phones and ear pieces were rifled through around 3 a.m. on April 17. It was unknown whether anything was taken.

Countywide Vehicle Thefts

A 2002 Ford Explorer was reported stolen in the 7300 block of Washington Blvd on April 14.

A 2003 yellow and black moped was reported stolen on All Saints Road on April 15. 

A Toyota 4 Runner was reported stolen from Antwerpen Toyota sometime between March 24 and April 17.

A yellow 26-foot Penske rental truck was reported stolen in the 8200 block of Preston Court on April 17.
