Man Dies During Traffic Stop In Elkridge

Police said the 51-year-old Baltimore man suffered a medical emergency after being arrested.

A Baltimore man died Saturday morning after suffering a medical emergency during a traffic stop with police.

Howard County Police had arrested the 51-year-old man after he provided police with false information and for driving with suspended tags.

When placed in handcuffs, the man said he was not feeling well and collapsed, reported police.

The officer and later responding medical personnel performed CPR on the man, then transported him to Howard County General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The man was identified as Hakeem Muhammed.

Medical personnel initially believe Muhammed may have had a heart attack, but police are working to determine the exact cause of death.
