Man in Sykesville Flown to Shock Trauma After Fall

Family members dialed 911 after finding the 81-year-old man on the floor, said officials.

A helicopter was on the ground at Green Manor Turf Farm in Sykesville on Sunday afternoon picking up a man who fell in a nearby residence, according to officials.

The Howard County Police Department's communications center said that after an 81-year-old man fell in a home on the 900 block of High Stepper Trail in Sykesville, a family member called 911.

"We don’t know what caused the fall or how long they were on the floor, but they thought it was serious enough to fly them out," said police, who reported the 911 call came in at 3:29 p.m.

Maryland State Police—which transports victims via helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore—landed at Sykesville's Green Manor Turf Farm, off MD Route 32, after 4 p.m., said officials.
