Man Pinned by Forklift in Critical Condition

Paramedics rescued a man pinned by a forklift at Elite Spice in Jessup at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.

"We extricated [the victim] and transported him to " said Jackie Cutler, spokeswoman for the department. "He was in critical, life-threatening condition."

Safety officials said that the man was loading and unloading equipment from a tractor-trailer in the parking lot off Montevideo Road when the incident occurred.

The man has not been identified and remains at the hospital, according to officials.

In accordance with departmental policy, police said they are conducting an investigation into the work-related incident.
