Copper Stolen at Elkridge Construction Site: Howard County Crime

Crime summaries reported to police between Nov. 25 - Dec. 1. All information provided by Howard County Police.

Construction site burglary

Twenty-eight rolls of copper were stolen from a storage unit containing copper at the Clark's construction site in the 6600 block of Marie Curie Drive sometime between Nov. 27 and Nov. 29.

Liquor store burglary

A masked man drove a box truck up to Triangle Liquors in the 8800 block of Baltimore National Pike and exited the vehicle with a box. Inside the box was a rock, which the man used to smash in the front door. Cash, cigarettes, and other unknown items were stolen from the business in the burglary around 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 27. Police said the masked suspect was wearing a Carhartt-style jacket, white work gloves, light colored pants, and brown work boots. 

Two basement doors kicked-in on Joycin Court

Police reported two residences in the 3600 block of Joycin Court had back doors kicked-in and were burglarized on Nov. 28 - 29. In the first one, on Nov. 28 around 9 a.m., a television, stereo and other items were taken. In the second, between 3 and 5 p.m. on Nov. 29, power tools were stolen from a residence's basement.
Patio chair used to break-in

Someone used a patio chair to reach a rear kitchen window at a residence in the 9300 block of Knoll Stone Court in the early morning of Nov. 30. The window was pried open and inside a laptop was stolen.

Union Mills Court burglary

Jewelry and a TV were stolen from a residence in the 8500 block of Union Mills Court between Nov. 25 and Nov. 30 after someone entered through a kitchen window off the rear deck. The master bedroom was ransacked.

Worker resides in home, after being told not to

A homeowner told police he hired a man to work on a residence in the 10400 block of Clarksville Pike. The owner provided the man a key, but told him he wasn't allowed to stay or live in the residence. However, the worker didn't return the key and the homeowner lost communication with the worker. Later, he found the worker residing at the home. Police arrested the man and charged him with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and theft.

Front door left unlocked, residence burglarized

A residence in the 3300 block of Coventry Court was entered by someone through an unlocked front door during the day on Dec. 1. Inside, a laptop and video game system were stolen.

Man robbed, punched in the head near Columbia Mall

A boy, who police said was about 12 years old, approached a man in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway and asked him for a dollar around 4 p.m. on Nov. 26. The man said he didn't have a dollar. Then a second dreadlocked man, who police said was about 21, approached the man and punched him in the head. At that time the boy and the dreadlocked man took the victim's cell phone. The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for lacerations from the assault. 

Robbery - pizza delivery person robbed

A delivery person for Philly's Best Pizza was robbed by four masked males, possibly in their late teens, who ordered pizza to a residence in the 5200 block of Patriot Lane around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 1. When the delivery person arrived, two males came from the back of the house and two others exited a minivan that was parked on the street. One of the suspects pulled out a knife while another removed cash from the delivery person's pocket. All four fled from the scene in the minivan.

Pizza delivery driver burglarized

A pizza delivery driver was dropping off a pizza at a residence in the 10300 block of Daystar Court around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 26. A man came out of the residence, grabbed the pizza, and walked back into the residence with paying. An officer responded to the scene and determined the residence was vacant, and there was no one inside. It appeared people had been hanging out in the vacant home, according to police.

Construction site burglary

Copper tubing was stolen from a storage trailer at a construction site in the 10200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway sometime overnight between Nov. 26 and Nov. 27. Someone cut the lock from the door of the trailer to get to the copper.

Laundry machine stolen

A coin-operated laundry machine was stolen from the Chimneys of Cradlerock in the 6500 block of Quiet Hours after someone broke in through an office window between Nov. 27 and Nov. 29.

Armed robbery - gas station holdup

An armed man robbed a BP gas station in the 15800 block of Frederick Road by displaying a revolver and ordering an employee to give him money around 1 p.m. on Dec. 1. Police described the suspect as a white male with a mustache, about 6-foot, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Chainsaw sculpture possibly vandalized

A man found his recently purchased chainsaw sculpture of a bird and tree with a saw mark on the beak of the bird on Dec. 1. No other property at the residence in the 800 block of Mills Road was found missing or destroyed.

Residential burglary - door kick-in

A revolver, jewelry and medications were stolen from a residence in the 9400 block of Glen Ridge Drive after someone kicked-in a rear basement door sometime between Nov. 21 and Nov. 27.

Brick used on glass door in burglary

Someone used a brick to gain entry through a rear sliding glass door at a residence in the 9400 block of Glen ridge Dr. between Nov. 28 and Nov. 30. Inside, jewelry and electronics were stolen.

Moonshine Hollow burglary

Someone forced open a storm window to gain entry to a residence in the 9000 block of Moonshine Hollow. A TV, laptop, jewelry, two cameras and DVDs were stolen during the morning of Dec. 1.
