Police Say 4-Year-Old Child Left in Car at Maryland Live! Casino for 8 Hours

The 4-year-old was left in a cold car in the parking garage for over 8 hours, said police.

A Baltimore woman was arrested Tuesday evening after police found her unattended 4-year-old child crying in the backseat of a car in the parking garage at Maryland Live! Casino.

Anne Arundel County Police located the child around 6:30 p.m. on level four of the parking garage. The 4-year-old was cold and hungry, said police, but had no signs of abuse.

Police determined the mother left the child around 10 a.m. on Tuesday and entered the casino.

Alicia Denice Brown, 24, was arrested and charged with second-degree child abuse, neglect, and leaving a child under 8 years old unattended. Police arrested Brown after she returned to the car and said the child was hers.

Doctors examined the 4-year-old at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Child Protective Services developed a safety plan for the child and released the 4-year-old to a relative, said police.
