NWS Issues Flash Flood Watch in Howard County
National Weather Service says Tropical Storm Andrea will bring to 6 inches of rain Friday, which could lead to flash flooding.
As Tropical Storm Andrea nears the Florida coast, the National Weather Service warned Howard County residents Thursday to start preparing for the heavy rain and hazardous conditions expected between now and late Friday evening.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Howard County and the greater Baltimore area in effect from Thursday evening through Friday evening.
Some areas could see up to 6 inches of rain, according to NWS projections.

Rain began to fall in Howard County Thursday evening. Foot's Forecast predicts 1 to 2 inches to fall overnight, with the storm moving out by Saturday morning.
Runoff from the rain may lead to flash floods around small streams or low-lying and coastal areas.
