Police Find Woman Dead in Parked Car

The car was at the Anne Arundel Community College satellite building in Hanover early Sunday morning.


A woman was found dead in a car parked at the Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) satellite building in Hanover Sunday morning, according to a release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

At 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Arundel Mills mall security officers called 911 to report an injured or sick person inside a vehicle parked at the AACC building located on Arundel Mills Circle, according to a release. Police said the security personnel reported a woman in the car appeared to be unconscious.

Police emergency personnel determined the woman had died when they arrived on the scene. She was alone in the vehicle.

Police said the victim, an African-American female in her early 20s, has been positively identified but her name is being withheld until her family is notified.

There weren't obvious signs of foul play but an investigation continues, according to police. It remains unknown how long the woman or the vehicle had been at the location.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division are working with Arundel Mills mall and AACC security personnel to identify leads and potential witnesses.
