Police Report: March 5–11

Greater Elkridge saw a few accidents and robberies this week.

There were a few motor vehicle collisions and thefts this week in greater Elkridge. On Friday evening, Anne Arundel County Police arrested a man wanted for murder.

Friday, March 11

Anne Arundel County Police arrested a man wanted in connection with a New York City homicide that occurred March 10. The man fled from New York to Millersville, MD, Friday evening, and near MD-32.

A two-vehicle collision around 4:30 p.m. on Washington Boulevard at Gatewood Drive in Jessup left two people in serious condition, said police. The vehicle occupants were transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. No further information was available.

Tools were stolen from a garage on the 5700 block of Main Street in Elkridge, reported at 1 p.m. There wasn’t any sign of forced entry, according to police.

Wednesday, March 9

Multiple thefts were reported at Crazy Ray’s (8125 Washington Blvd.) in Jessup, said police.

Tuesday, March 8

There was a two-vehicle collision on Washington Boulevard at Bonnie View Lane in Elkridge, reported at 8:34 a.m. Nobody was injured and no citations were issued, according to police.

Monday, March 7

A man was shot in the hand on a Columbia footpath after he resisted an at 2:40 p.m.

Sunday, March 6

An air conditioner and commercial coolers were stolen from Weeping Willow Nursery and Florist (6943 Washington Blvd.) in Elkridge, reported at 6 p.m.

A Laurel man was arrested at 10:35 a.m. for cutting copper from air conditioning units on the 8200 block of Patuxent Range Road in Jessup. Bernard L. Brown, 52, of Whiskey Bottom Road, has been charged with one count each of second- and fourth-degree burglary, two counts of malicious destruction of property, and one count of attempted theft, according to the Howard County Police Department. Police said Brown had cutting tools with him when he was arrested.
