Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

Two Hanover men were charged with a variety of criminal and traffic offenses after being stopped by police Wednesday morning.

Police arrested two Hanover residents after finding 19.1 grams of marijuana during a routine traffic stop Wednesday in Severn.

At around 11:18 a.m. on Wednesday, an Anne Arundel County police officer pulled over a Crown Victoria at the intersection of Telegraph and Norcross Road for excess speed.

During the stop, the officer was notified by headquarters of a warrant for the driver's arrest. A search of the vehicle produced a small ziplock bag, leading to 12 other bags, containing what appeared to be illegal substances.

The amount of marijuana found is estimated to have a street value of $190.

The driver and passenger were arrested and charged with numerous criminal and traffic offenses including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

The suspects are identified as (driver) Ralph Tongleh Suah, 26, Hanover, MD, and (passenger) Muso Chandler Hartier, 32, Hanover, MD.
