RV is Toast; No One Hurt

Six people in adjacent house in Jessup evacuated, officials said.

 

An RV parked next to a house in Jessup caught fire early Sunday, and everyone in the house escaped unharmed, said the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS).

Crews from Howard and Anne Arundel counties arrived at what was reportedly a house fire at 6:30 a.m. and found instead that flames were coming from a camper next to a house on the 7200 block of Wye Avenue in Jessup, said HCDFRS.

Six residents evacuated the house before firefighters arrived, according to HCDFRS. The flames didn't spread, and no one was injured as a result of the RV fire, said officials.

By 6:50 a.m., the fire was under control, according to the statement.

The fire department estimated there were $5,000 in damages and is continuing its investigation.
