Seven-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Interstate 95 Northbound

The collision was one of multiple incidents near I-895 Sunday night, said police.

Seven vehicles collided on Interstate 95 North on Sunday evening, according to police.

At 10:38 p.m., Howard County emergency personnel responded at I-95N near I-895 to find a seven-vehicle crash. One person was trapped and had to be rescued from the vehicle and was found to have minor injuries, said police.

Fire and rescue teams evaluated 11 people total for injuries, reported the police dispatch center, and five were not serious. No further information was available.

Maryland State Police reported that there were "multiple collisions" along this stretch of I-95N but did not have details on the other incidents.

Beginning at 10:43 p.m., northbound lanes of I-95 were closed at I-895.
