Burglars Break Into 4 Elkridge Properties

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.


At 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, officers found the rear door of a residence pried open on the 6800 block of Lawyers Hill Road. Police said it was unclear what had been taken from the home, which is currently vacant and under renovation.

Tresspassing, Burglary, Drug Charges on Waterloo Road

On Tuesday, March 6, at approximately 12 p.m., a witness saw two suspects on the roof of a house on the 5600 block of Waterloo Road. The house, which had been burned previously, was vacant.

Officers arrested two Ellicott City men at the location. Police charged one suspect with first, third and fourth-degree burglary; theft; possession of a drug other than marijuana and paraphernalia; destruction of property; making a false statement to an officer; and making a false statement to a state official. The other suspect was charged with first, third and fourth-degree burglary; theft; and trespassing. 

Residential Burglary on Lark Brown Road

Cash and jewelry were stolen from the 8400 block of Lark Brown Road on Saturday, March 3. Police responded to the robbery at approximately 7:04 p.m. after an alarm sounded; officers found the front door kicked in.

Commercial Burglary on Race Road

Sports memorabilia, antique replica cars, rare coins and a stamp collection were stolen from a storage container on the 6500 block of Race Road. The theft was reported on Thursday, March 1, at 12:10 p.m. Police said that a hole had been cut in the fence behind the building.

A business yard in that area was also  by cutting a hole through the fence.
