Coleman shared the home with his parents, according to The Washington Post.

Prince George's County police arrived at the house and waited for detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Coleman came out of the home holding a shotgun and an AK-47 assault rifle, said police. He shot one officer with the shotgun before six Prince George's County officers shot him multiple times, according to a written statement from the department.

Coleman was pronounced dead on the scene.

The injured officer—an 11-year veteran of the Prince George's County Police Department—suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital, said officials.

Police said Coleman knew the two murder victims and the act was not "random."

Officials are continuing to investigate. If you have information about the incident, contact Anne Arundel County Police Department's Detective J. Gow at 410-222-3417. Callers may remain anonymous.
