Virginia Man Charged in Econo Lodge Scuffle

Two break-ins were reported in Elkridge; one Sunday, another Monday.

Police said that two break-ins were reported in Elkridge in the past two days. One was at a motel and the other was in a vacant home.

At 12:17 a.m. on Feb. 27, police responded to the 5800 block of Bonnie View Lane in Elkridge because of a report that a man was trying to kick in a motel room door.

Officers discovered a 19-year-old man from Woodbridge, VA, in the parking lot of the  and charged him with attempted third- and fourth-degree burglary, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and failure to obey a police officer.

Police said he was released from the Howard County Detention Center Monday after posting $5,000 bond. He has a court date set for May 3.

At 5:44 p.m. on Feb. 26, a vacant house on the 6300 block of Beechfield Avenue was broken into through a rear window that wasn’t locked. Nothing appeared to be missing, said police.
