Breakfast With Ken Ulman: $1,000-$4,000

Latest fundraiser for Howard County executive asks supporters to contribute maximum allowed under state law.


Howard County Executive Ken Ulman is holding a breakfast Thursday in Baltimore. The price of admission? It will cost $1,000 for guests and $4,000 for “host sponsor" seats.

The 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. fundraiser will be held at The Center Club (100 Light St. #16) in Baltimore, according to the Maryland Democratic Party calendar.

Ulman has not officially announced that he is running for governor, but has said he’s . He has been holding fundraisers across Maryland, including a May 10 that featured DJ/rapper Biz Markie.

Tickets to that event ranged from $35 to $500. 

Ulman’s term as county executive is up in 2014, the same year as the next gubernatorial election.

Gov. Martin O’Malley (D-MD) will not be able to run for a third term, because of term limits, according to the Baltimore Sun, which has also reported that Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown, Comptroller Peter Franchot and Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler have been recently holding fundraising events.

As of January, Ulman had $1.3 million in fundraising dollars in hand, compared with the $4.1 million that Gansler reported, $1 million of Franchot, and Brown’s $810,000 cash balance, the Sun reported.
