New Elkridge Schools, Fire Station in Ulman's Proposed Budget

The county executive released his FY 2013 capital budget proposal on Friday.


County Executive Ken Ulman released his FY 2013 capital budget proposal on Friday, which included three major capital projects in Elkridge.

"This budget offers a solid framework to ensure that investments we make this year are affordable and necessary in the long term," wrote Ulman in the budget's introduction.

Along those lines, the $175.25 million plan allocates funding for the following Elkridge capital projects:

  •  on Ducketts Lane to alleviate overcrowding in the northeast: $15.85 million
  •  at Oxford Square to accomodate growth along the Route 1 corridor: $10 million
  •  on Montgomery Road to serve : $1.48 million

“With the state budget still in flux, we continue to be conservative in our decision-making process, and are always mindful that priorities such as education...and key infrastructure come first,” said Ulman.

There will be a public hearing on the proposal Monday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the  before the County Council.
