Elkridge, Get Ready to be Heard

A bonanza of hearings is happening this week.

In the week following Presidents Day, the celebration of democracy continues...and for Elkridge, that means a bunch of public hearings.

These are the big ones:

  • Public hearing before the COUNTY COUNCIL on Tuesday at 7 p.m.: The County Council is having a hearing in the George Howard Building on proposed legislation like redrawing of council districts. Earlier this month, the Greater Elkridge Community Association wrote a letter to the council expressing dicontent with the council's plan, which includes splitting parts of the Ducketts Lane and Hunt Club neighborhoods.
  • Public hearing before the HOWARD COUNTY DELEGATION on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.: The delegates who represent Howard County in Annapolis are coming to their constituents, which is not customary in all counties, during the legislative session. Tell them what's important to you at the state and county level.
  • Public hearing before the HEARING EXAMINER on Thursday at 6 p.m.: The Howard County Hearing Examiner will listen to a developer's case to put age-restricted housing on Montgomery Road in the Rockburn area. The public is welcome to testify as well.
