Elkridge Money Bag Burglar Indicted

Joseph Charles Williams of Paterson, NJ, faces multiple charges related to Marshalee Drive burglaries at Lyndwood.

A Howard County grand jury indicted a New Jersey man on charges related to multiple business break-ins at the Lyndwood shopping centers in Elkridge this month.

Joseph Charles Williams, 53, of Paterson, NJ, faces eight counts of burglary and one count of theft between $1,000 and $10,000 after police said they found him leaving Naima's Hair Design with a TV in his arms on Sept. 9.

Williams reportedly fled back into the hair salon, where police detained him and found a money bag nearby.

According to charging documents, Williams also broke into  Hunan Express, Great Clips and Venetian Nails and Spa.

Bond is set at $75,000 for Williams, who is not to return to any business on Marshalee Drive, according to the indictment. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment Nov. 1 at Howard County Circuit Court.
