Citizens will have a chance to talk with officials from the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and CSX at this workshop about the proposed intermodal facility. Four sites are under consideration for the facility, and one will be selected in central Maryland: Montevideo Road, Brock Bridge Road, Hanover/Race Roads, and Beltsville.
According to Jack Cahalan of MDOT, the public workshop will be "full of different stations that would address specific issues with maps of how the facilty could fit within the footprint of the four sites." Said Cahalan: "This informal setting allows for a give-and-take discussion. We’ll be able to provide more detail and get more input from residents…that’s part of the process."
The April 21 workshop will be at Hebron-Harman Elementary School in Hanover.
