Maryland: ATM for Obama's Re-election Campaign?

President Obama made a quick trip from Pennsylvania Avenue to the environs of Baltimore this week. He picked up a few campaign bucks in the process.

President Obama appeared at fundraisers at the home of a developer in Owings Mills and at an Inner Harbor hotel this week, netting what was predicted to be $1.5 million in re-election campaign funds.

National Democratic candidates count on Maryland donations to feed their political machines.

"Maryland is a state that understands the importance of a national strategy, and we know that we are a donor state — that there will be much more money coming out of Maryland than coming in," Sen. Ben Cardin, who attended the fundraisers, told the Baltimore Sun.

Republicans also made their presence known, with Republican candidate Mitt Romney's wife, Ann, making an appearance in Linthicum for a private fundraiser.

I know most people focus on 'swing' states and purple states but I'm fascinated by the diversity of Maryland and its role nationally considering its demographics and proximity to Washington. What a great discussion!

Oh please, if dumb rich people want to set fire to their own money, what do we care? It's all. a fix who wins and who stands aside. Currently we have been given this guy so the liberals don't fuss, next time it'll be someone to placate whoever starts objecting too loudly. Main thing is the banks always win, who the puppet is who represents them matters not.

I am not sure he is the greatest leader the world has ever seen, but I do agree he is doing a darn good job. And, as a side note, he was absolutely correct in saying the private sector is doing fine. Romeny, on the other hand, was completely wrong in saying we need to reduce the number of cops, firefighters, and teachers. Also, if you missed the news, Romney is now saying he would keep parts of the Obama Health Care plan. Surprise, the primaries are over and Mitt is slowly trying to move back to the center.
