Steer Clear of Sewage Overflow in Elkridge

The spill is at Lyndsey Way and Dorsey Run Road.

Sewage is overflowing in Elkridge at Dorsey Run Road and Lyndsey Way, according to public health officials.

On Thursday afternoon, Howard County Health Department said it will notify Maryland Department of the Environment that "failure of an 18-inch feeder line caused a sewage overflow," according to a press release. The health department said the problem began in the past 24 hours.

"The public is reminded to avoid contact with these types of affected areas," stated a press release from Howard County's Health Department.

Officials hope to have temporary repairs complete by the end of Thursday, stated the release, and the county will complete additional work thereafter.
