Tropical Storm Andrea Affects Weekend Forecast

The path of Tropical Storm Andrea will lead to rain, winds to Howard County.

Tropical Storm Andrea is expected to move across southeastern Virginia Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, bringing with it plenty of rain and possible thunderstorms even as it weakens to a post-tropical storm. 

"A quick 1-3 inches" of rain could fall this evening, according to the NWS forecast discussion, otherwise, expect up to an inch of rain to fall between Friday night and Saturday morning. Temperatures will drop to the low-60s at night.

A flash flood watch is in effect in Howard County until 10 p.m. Friday.

There is a slight chance of showers Saturday after 11 a.m., otherwise expect mostly cloudy skies with a high near 80 degrees during the day, dropping to the mid-60s at night. 

Sunday also brings a 40 percent chance of showers, mostly after 2 p.m. Otherwise, we may see some sun during the day and temperatures in the mid-80s. Sunday night there's also a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s.

Next week will start off rainy. There's a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with high temperatures in the low-80s.
