What's Closed on Labor Day 2012 in Howard County
Only a few county operations will remain open on the holiday this Monday.
Labor Day is this Monday, Sept. 3, and several operations in Howard County will be closed for the holiday, according to a press release from the county.
As always, the 9-1-1 center, police and fire departments will remain open, as well as the Roger Carter Recreation Center, Howard County Parks and the Howard Transit and Connect-A-Ride, which will be operating on a Sunday schedule.
All parking regulations and fees will remain in effect on the holiday.
The following county operations will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, and resume regular business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
- Howard County Government Offices
- Howard County Courts
- Animal Shelters
- Senior Centers
- Landfill
- Trash and recycling services (resumes on the holiday "slide" schedule)
- Gary J. Arthur Community Center
- Kiwanis-Wallas Recreation Center
- North Laurel Community Center
- Robinson Nature Center
- Meadowbrook Athletic Complex
