Student Struck in Front of Mayfield Woods Middle School

The 7th grader was taken to the hospital, according to the principal.

A car struck a 13-year-old boy in front of Mayfield Woods Middle School Monday, according to police.

The incident occurred on Mayfield Avenue, after the school day had started and most of the students were in school, according to a letter sent to parents by principal JoAnn C. Hutchens. However, some students did see it happen.

“These students met with our school counselors and their parents have been contacted,” according to the letter. “Our staff, including school administrators, school counselors, school psychologist and health assistant/nurse, were available to provide guidance and support.”
