The Howard County Youth Hockey Club is pleased to announce details about their inaugural HOCKEY DAY IN COLUMBIA, a celebration of hockey.

A season opening event, there will be on-ice games, fun hockey activities inside and outside the rink, food & beverage, equipment sales, raffles, an equipment swap, etc. The schedule for the various on-ice hockey games which will be played inside the rink is below.  Huskies players of any age are invited to sign up for the Cross-Ice 3x3 Challenge, the Shootout Challenge, and the Relay
Races. Outside activities open to all include Hardest Shot Contest, Accuracy Contest and an inflatable shooting cage from the NHL Washington Capitals.

From 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., the Huskies will host a TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE event on the ice where any local youngster can come to the rink, get outfitted with free loaner equipment and spend an hour or so on the ice getting basic hockey instruction from certified USA hockey coaches.

A highlight of the day will be the Midget AA hockey game at 5:50 p.m.. 

It should be a fun day and we invite the local community to come out and enjoy Hockey Day in Columbia!

8:30 a.m.     TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE

10:30 a.m.   Huskies Bantams vs. N.J. Renegades

12:00 p.m.   Shootout Competition

12:45 p.m.   Huskies Squirts vs. Montgomery

2:10 p.m.     Lady Huskies vs. Montgomery

3:45 p.m.     Relay Races

4:25 p.m.     Huskie Peewees vs. York

5:50 p.m.     Huskie Midgets vs. York
