This is a great time to join MORE and IMBA, learn a ton about trail building and repair AND smile a ton!  IMBAs Trail Care Crew will be visiting Howard County this weekend, Oct 29-30.

The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew, on the road since 1997, is IMBA's grassroots educational program and an authority on sustainable trail building practices. Two teams of professional trail experts travel year-round throughout the United States and beyond, leading trail work sessions, meeting with land managers and working with IMBA-affiliated clubs and the communities they serve to improve mountain biking opportunities. The Trail Care Crew program has inspired great volunteer trail work across the U.S. and abroad - a big help to government agencies and land managers who have limited funding for trail construction and upkeep. As a direct result, there are now thousands of new and improved trails in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and several European countries.

Morning will consist of a presentation and discussions on trail building and repair.  Afternoon will be hands on work in Patapsco.
Bring water, sunscreen, gloves, and wear closed-toe shoes and pants for the trail building.
  • Classroom 9 a.m. - noon
  • Breakfast and lunch provided
  • Field work 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., Valley View Trail, Patapsco Valley State Park
Breakfast and lunch provided by MORE.
RSVP please so we know how much food & drink to have on hand - scroll all the way to the bottom left corner for the Register Now button.  Last part of registration asks "Which TCC events will you be attending?", select Trail Building School.

Pfeiffer's Corner Schoolhouse accessed through the Rockburn Park West Entrance off of Montgomery Rd.  After turning onto Rockburn Branch Park Rd, 0.4 miles down on the left is the historic little school house called Pfeiffer's Corner Schoolhouse.

Meet at the Pump Track.  Enter the park, go up past the concession stand and turn right up the gravel road to meet at the Pump Track.

Bring your bikes for a morning session on how to actually ride the track and some time will be spent on the correct repair techniques as well.
