Summer's End Family Run/Walk

Summer’s End 5K Family Run/Walk, a benefit for the Elkridge Food Pantry and Garden, is set for Sunday, Sept. 16, starting at 8 a.m. 

The entry fee is $20 per person, $10 for children 12 and under, and $40 for a family of four or more.  All proceeds will go to the Elkridge Food Pantry and Garden, a non-profit organization serving members of the local community.

The Summer’s End 5K Family Run/Walk will include post-race food and music.  The race course is flat, paved and free of traffic, and the run/walk will take place rain or shine.  Baby stroller and wheelchairs are welcome.  Bike, roller blades, scooter or motorized vehicles are not allowed.  The race is an unofficial, non-timed race with no bibs or chips.

Registration is being accepted at www.summersend5k.org.  A free t-shirt will be provided those who register before Sept. 2.  A limited number of t-shirts will be printed and available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the race. T-shirt pick up and late registration is set for 7-7:45 a.m.  The run/walk starts and finishes at the Elkridge Food Pantry at 5660 Furnace Avenue.  Parking is available at the Volleyball House.

Race/run participants and other attendees are encouraged to bring canned food items for the food pantry. Lead sponsor for the event is CrossLife Community Church.
