A mile's drive along a country road leads to the Belmont estate, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its 82 acres are scenic and preserved, much like the bordering Patapsco State Park. On the grounds are the Manor House containing 15 guest rooms, a conference center, a banquet area and reception hall. Also on-site are the Dobbin House offering five guest rooms and the Carriage House - home to four guest rooms, two conference rooms, a banquet area and reception hall. Currently owned by Howard Community College, the center includes a training program for the college's Hospitality and Culinary Management students. Dining is a highlight of any visit to Belmont, as the facility is often used for catered affairs such as weddings, meetings and special events.
