Anne Arundel County police have distributed several photos of "persons of interest" in relation to the robbery of a teenager at Arundel Mills on Friday morning. Police released surveillance photos showing six young men and also distributed images of the type of jacket allegedly stolen from the teen. Detectives are actively investigating the case and said they believe at least five suspects walked up behind the victim near the Bed Bath and Beyond store at Arundel Mills shortly after 2 a.m. Friday. Police said one of the suspects punched the teen as he walked outside and another stole a bag containing the items the boy purchased. The items included a jacket with the words "Reckless Cult." A 14-year-old boy told police he was assaulted and robbed as he left the Bed Bath and Beyond store at Arundel Mills mall in Hanover early Friday morning. According to Anne Arundel County police, the teen said he was approached by five suspects just after 2 a.m. Friday in the parking lot. He told police he was punched and robbed of his shopping bag. Police contacted the parents of the teen, who suffered a minor injury but refused medical treatment on the scene. The suspects, all male and between the ages of 17 and 21, reportedly fled on foot towards the Bass Pro store and officers were unable to locate them.

Anne Arundel County police are asking for help identifying a man seen in surveillance images on Aug. 15 at CR Jewelers at Arundel Mills mall in Hanover. According to police, the man distracted the store's attendants, stole jewelry and left the store. Anyone with information may contact Detective W.C. A Jessup man faces various drug possession charges.
Anne Arundel County police have seized a three-foot long American alligator from a Jessup home following a drug bust that resulted in various criminal charges for a Jessup man. The alligator was in good health, police said. It was initially taken to animal control in Anne Arundel County, and was then taken to a facility for exotic animals. On Friday, officers executed a search and seizure warrant at 7506 Gleneagle Drive in Jessup. In addition to finding the alligator, law enforcement officials said they found approximately 159 grams of marijuana worth an estimated $3,180. Other items seized included drug paraphernalia, $792 in cash and other unknown substances that have been sent to the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s crime lab for…

Charges against the Crofton man were announced during a press conference Wednesday by the state's attorney and police chief of Prince George's County.
UPDATE (2:30 p.m.)—Neil Prescott of Crofton was charged with telephone misuse related to an averted threat incident last week in which he allegedly made threatening calls to his workplace. The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon by Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks and Prince George’s County Police Chief Mark Magaw at the county courthouse in Upper Marlboro. Alsobrooks said that Section 3-804 was the only Maryland law under which Prescott could be charged because the state does not have a law against making threats by phone. The charge of telephone misuse, which is a misdemeanor in the state, carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $500 fine. Prescott won't be arrested until his release …

Less than a week after a gunman opened fire on a crowded theater in Aurora, CO, police in Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties say they thwarted a "terror attack" that threatened to bring similar fear and violence closer to home. Officials from both counties announced Friday that they had a man in custody in connection with a mass shooting plot. Media reports named the suspect as Neil Prescott, 28, of Crofton, but police declined to confirm his identity. Earlier reports identified the suspect's last name as "Trescott;" however it has since been corrected. Anne Arundel County Police have obtained arrest warrants for two men in connection with a shooting in Jessup last month. Police said they are looking for Brandon Durell Johnson, 23, of Severn, and Kaliq Uqdah, 20, of Baltimore. The two men are accused of breaking into another man’s apartment on March 20, according to a press release. Police said the pair used force to enter the residence on the 7800 block of Sellner Road before one of the suspects displayed a handgun and shot the 45-year-old victim in the leg before fleeing. The victim’s injuries were reportedly not life-threatening. Police said an investigation revealed that Johnson and Uqdah targeted the victim, and that the incident stemmed from a dispute. Anne Arundel County police identifed a pedestrian killed by a car on Dorsey Road on Sunday evening as Robert Henry Mundell of Hanover. Mundell, 66, who lived in the 7400 block of Dorsey Road, was walking on the right lane of Dorsey Road just west of Ridge Road when he was struck by a Mazda 6, police said. He was approximately one mile from home when he was struck. Emergency personnel found Mundell lying on the right side of Dorsey Road at 7:58 p.m., according to a news release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
