Judge: Evidence Seized on Jarrett's Property Stays In

Evidence from a search of the property where the remains of Robert Jarrett's wife were found can be used in trial.

A Howard County Circuit Court judge ruled Thursday that evidence discovered in the April search of Robert Jarrett’s home may be used in his trial on charges of killing his wife. During the search of the Elkridge property, police uncovered the remains of Jarrett’s former wife, Christine, mixed with concrete and buried beneath a shed in the yard.  Jarrett is accused of first-degree murder in the death. He reported his wife missing more than 21 years ago.  Thursday's hearing was one of several scheduled to determine what evidence can be used in the case.  According to Senior Assistant State's Attorney James J. Suspected Door Kick-in Burglars Released on $15,000 Bail

Police said the duo stole more than $22,000 in firearms, jewelry and electronics.

  The day after two suspected burglars were arrested and accused of of stealing more than $22,000 in firearms, jewelry and electronics from at least four Howard County residences, they were released on $15,000 bail, court officials said this week.  Howard County prosecutors said they tried to increase the bond, but without success. “I don’t believe $15,000 would be the first number that came to mind,” said Natasha M. Byus, the Howard County assistant state’s attorney handling the case. “I did not have an opportunity to speak with the commissioner before the bond was set.” Both Joseph Leo Baumgarten, 40, and Dianna Lynn Marketti, 30, posted the full bail on Oct. 5 after being charged with 25 counts each, including first-, second- and fourth…
