A wooden fence now surrounds the property, but no updates have been made to the lot.
Questions still remain on the status of the former location of the Buttermilk Hill Tavern in Elkridge. In October, Elkridge Patch reported the empty lot at 6100 Washington Blvd. was being used by two men, who declined to identify themselves, to sell used automobiles. Since then, a large wooden fence was installed to enclose the property and orange barrels alongside the fence have been knocked over, some crushed. Do you think the site is an eyesore? What should be done with it? Tell us in comments. Spray paint seen recently on the wooden fence on Feb. 27 reads, "Viva la revolucion" and "You are a slave!" A sign that previously read, "for sale, lease options, owner will finance", according to a Google street view picture, now only reads, "…

The announcement came when Governor Martin O'Malley visited to talk about sequestration.
FLIR's vice president of operations Roger Wells announced recently that the company is set to expand its Elkridge location in a move that will double the company's current space. FLIR, which makes thermal imaging and infrared cameras for police and military uses as well as the private sector, will soon move across the street from its current location at 6610 Amberton Drive, said Wells. The announcement came as Governor Martin O'Malley and Howard County Executive Ken Ulman warned of the negative effects the looming sequester may have on local business such as FLIR. Wells said at a recent press conference that the sequester, automatic cuts in defense and domestic spending at the federal level, has slowed down hiring and investment plans for …
