Update, 1:25 p.m. Howard County police have identified the body found Sunday afternoon in North Laurel as that of 49-year-old Staci Marie Watkins. Foul play is not suspected, police said. An autopsy is pending. Original article: The body of a woman was found Sunday in the woods off of the 9000 block of U.S. Route 1 in North Laurel, authorities said. According to Howard County police, a man called 911 around 4 p.m. to report that he had seen the body while walking in the woods. Officials believe it may be that of a woman in her 40s reported missing several weeks ago by a friend. There were no obvious signs of foul play, police said, but an investigation is ongoing.

Salmaam Sultan had been missing since Friday.
UPDATED 6/27, 11:10 a.m. A 22-year-old Ellicott City man missing since Friday has been found dead in Baltimore, according to the Howard County Police Department. Salmaan Sultan had last been seen by his family on June 24, leaving his house on the 3500 block of Coventry Court Drive. His body was found Friday near a parking garage in Baltimore. There was no identification on him, and police did not initially know who he was, said Sherry Llewellyn, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department. Police confirmed his identity Monday morning. Sultan's death is being investigated as a suicide; a preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play, Llewellyn said. The 81-year-old may be confused, police say.
Updated 6/13 9:30 a.m. Search crews found Benigno Ortiz Santos just after midnight on Tuesday. He was in good condition. -- Howard County Police are asking residents to be on the lookout for a missing Jessup man who lives on the 8300 block of Firewood Court. Police say Benigno Ortiz Santos, 81, has dementia and may be disoriented or confused. His family last saw Santos at 8:30 a.m. Monday, when a relative came home to find the front door open and Santos gone. Santos is probably on foot, police said, and likely not carrying a cell phone or any identification. He speaks limited English and fluent Spanish and may be able to answer to his name.
