Mega Millions Ticket Bought in Howard County

The Mt. Airy purchase is worth $26 million.

You’ve got 182 days, whoever you are. That’s about six months to claim the $26 million Mega Millions jackpot. But do you really want to wait that long? According to the Maryland Lottery, the winning numbers (1, 15, 19, 30, 56 and Mega Ball 28) were purchased in Mt. Airy at the Shell Station at 649 Lakeview Drive. The winning ticket holder isn’t the only one who’s made a pretty penny – the retailer gets a $26,000 commission for selling that golden ticket.  According to a statement released by the Maryland Lottery, the winner has to claim the prize in person at the Baltimore Claims Center and has to decide - $26 million paid over time or $19 million in cash. Report: Frederick Sheriff Says Injuries Show Man Shot by Deputies Pointed Gun

The Frederick County sheriff's office said injuries to a teen shot and killed by deputies indicated he was aiming a shotgun at them.

  The Frederick County sheriff's office told the Frederick News-Post last week that injuries to the hands of a 19-year-old man shot and killed by sheriff's deputies earlier this month show the man was pointing a shotgun at the time he was killed. The News-Post reported that police said the shotgun's pump action and stock were damaged and the weapon was loaded, with a round in the chamber, when 19-year-old Daniel Vail was killed inside his Mt. Airy home. At the time of the shooting, sheriff's deputies were serving a Howard County Police search warrant related to a Mt. Airy home invasion in which one suspect was allegedly armed with a shotgun. Howard County police said the other two suspects in the home invasion have not been arrested as of …

Teen Killed by Frederick Sheriff's Deputies Serving Howard County Warrant

Deputies were serving a warrant related to a Jan. 8 home invasion in Mt. Airy, in western Howard County.

Frederick County sheriff's deputies shot and killed 19-year-old Daniel Vail on Thursday morning while serving a warrant related to a Howard County home invasion in Mt. Airy, according to a police account. The deputies were assisting Howard County Police who had issued a warrant for Vail, of Mt. Airy, who was suspected to be involved with a Jan. 8 home invasion in Mt. Airy. The Jan. 8 home invasion, which occurred in the Howard County portion of Mt. Airy, involved three masked men, armed with a baseball bat and a shotgun, who demanded money from two male victims at a residence near the 600 block of Long Corner Road, according to Howard County police.
