Postal Service Will Continue Saturday Delivery
Despite an announcement earlier this year, the Post Office will continue its six-day delivery schedule.
Disappointed that you won’t be getting mail delivered on Saturdays? Good news! The U.S. Postal Service has changed its mind. Or rather, Congress did it for them. In February, the Postal Service announced it would end most Saturday mail delivery as of Aug. 1. But, according to US News and World Report, Congress added language to its recently passed Continuing Resolution that prohibits the Postal Service from changing its service schedule. A statement from the USPS Board of Governors said the Postal Service was “disappointed,” but would follow the law. The Board said it had hoped to save $2 billion by cutting Saturday service.
