The tax preparer won 80 percent of readers' votes.
When tax time comes, it helps to know whom you can trust. And in Elkridge, that place is Burdett & Associates, which scooped up 80 percent of the votes in our poll. Don’t forget—taxes are due April 17.

The clock is ticking down to April 17.
Even though this year's deadline offers a couple of extra days past April 15, sometimes things happen and taxes get pushed to the last minute. Where in Elkridge should you go if that's the case? Restaurant brings home two wins in three weeks.
For the second time this month, readers have spoken and selected Daniels Restaurant and Bar as their favorite place in Elkridge. Two weeks ago, the restaurant on Route 1 was voted the best place in Elkridge to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. This time, Daniels scooped up our “best sandwich” category, with 33 percent of the vote in our poll and a five-star rating in our business directory, where it had three reviews. Coming in second was Smokey's and Uncle Grube's, with 8 percent of the vote and five stars in our business directory with one review. “Daniel's Crabby Patty is the best," wrote August on the Patch article asking for help in finding the best sandwich in Elkridge. The Route 1 shop has won the hearts of readers, and the trust of their kids.
The Main St. Barbershop is Elkridge’s favorite place to take kids for a trim, according to a recent Patch survey. “Both my boys got their very first haircut at Main Street—a memory we all will treasure,” wrote Linda Howard in a review of the shop. In a poll to find where kids went to get their hair cut in Elkridge, The Main St. Barbershop swept up 30 percent of the vote. In addition, it had more positive reviews on Patch than any other hair salon or barber in Elkridge. The barbershop, located at the intersection of Route 1 and Montgomery Road, presents children who get their first haircuts with a certificate and a Polaroid picture, in addition to a little bag for a lock of hair as a souvenir.
