Howard County Man Faces Charges in Local Burglaries

Robert W. Stone, who was indicted on burglary charges in December, faces charges related to additional burglaries.

A man already charged in a string of burglaries in Howard County faces more burglary charges after an investigation involving a stakeout, a helicopter search and DNA evidence, according to court records. Robert W. Stone, of the 10300 block of Daystar Court in Columbia, was indicted this week on burglary, car theft and other charges in connection with incidents in Columbia and Ellicott City.  Stone is charged with stealing a minivan and an SUV in Ellicott City, as well as burglarizing residences on Dorsch Farm Road and Brampton Parkway in Ellicott City and Pemberton Court in Columbia. Indictment For Elkridge Man Accused of Countywide Burglaries

Robert Stone faces more than a half-dozen burglary charges.

An Elkridge man has been indicted on several burglary charges in a string of home invasions that date back to last summer. Police say they caught Robert W. Stone, who also has an address in Columbia listed in court records, on the 1000 block of Ridermark Row. According to police, officers were investigating a stolen vehicle on Nov. 22 when they saw Stone walking past a house wearing a mask, dark clothes and gloves. Police said when Stone saw them, he tried to get into the car they had been investigating and drive away, but they were able to detain him.  During the ensuing investigation, police say they found evidence that linked Stone to several other break-ins, including one in July on the 6800 block of Creekside Road in Clarksville and …
