Hotel Tax Funds Howard County Tourism's New Look

The office of Tourism and Promotion will roll out its redesigned website on Valentine's Day.

Howard County's office of tourism is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and on Valentine's Day, the agency will unveil a new attraction—its updated website. Howard County Tourism and Promotion (HCTP) will launch a redesigned website on Tuesday featuring aesthetic and experiential improvements, according to Rachelina Bonacci, HCTP's executive director. The new look is being rolled out on Valentine's Day so that people will remember the date and because "we put a lot of love into that website," said Bonacci. "We love how it looks (and) functions and are sure users will too..." The county hotel tax—which went into effect this year and doubled HCTP's funding—made the project possible, according to Bonacci. "The additional funding …

Valentine's Day Dining: Historic Inns-Turned-Restaurants

Three ideas in and around Elkridge for a Valentine's Day that will go down in history.

Are you still making plans for a special Valentine’s Day meal? Here are three ideas for tried-and-true, more-than-a-century-old establishments near Elkridge. 1. The Elkridge Furnace Inn has been listed as one of Open Table's Top 100 romantic spots. The building has been around since 1744, when it was first used as a tavern.
