Kinney hopes the garden plants she transplanted in the warm weather will survive the recent snow. "It's not normal in that people like it," said Tryphenia Ellis-Johnson, of Laurel, "but it's normal." Ellis-Johnson said she has lived in the region her whole life, and the periods between seasons are not actually as sporadic as some people make them out to be.
