A desire to be in the kitchen and create new recipes for my family has only made me a better cook. As the author of a cookbook, Amelia's Kitchen, there is the privilege of having all my favorite recipes in one book so I can pass them on to my family and share their goodness with everyone.
The different techniques, shortcuts and cooking methods I've learned from experimenting with recipes in my home kitchen help me to teach others how to take the fear out of cooking and baking at home. My goal is to make beginner cooks and young children feel confident in the kitchen. Learning about cooking is not only necessary for nourishing ourselves and our family, it is definitely healthier as well as frugal. The bonus is that cooking creates happy memories of the person who cooked for you with thoughts of happiness and laughter around a table of food.

Growing Tomatoes and Basil in Containers

Containers are a sensible alternative for apartment dwellers and those who don'tMore want to tend a small farm. Plant a tomato plant with basil in a large non-terra cotta pot for larger tomatoes. The basil will improve the taste of the tomatoes.
