ReplyUPDATE! The Goody's picnic will basically be all day - 10am to 5pm. I went to the store today and oh my, how lovely! I added some more pictures. I got the grand tour, and you should keep your eye out for notices of wood-carving classes by Harold, and sewing and painting classes by Anna. Their work is excellent, and I was very enthralled with the whole ambiance of the store, the quality of their work, and their various work rooms. Please go see them! Check out their web-site at http://www.goodysfolkart.com/ too!

Thanks for your comments. I can't speak for other bike-commuters - I rarely commute but would like to do it more if it weren't such a challenge. I certainly drive my car a lot - something like 15,000 miles a year! So I am paying the taxes and tolls like everyone else. I also can't speak for those bikes traveling in packs. I'm usually alone or single file with my spouse. I don't know their reasoning, and I rarely see them or have a problem with them. I'm not really asking for new trails on old roads (though it would be nice...), but I just think that we should learn from the past, and as new developments come along, it is not that much more expensive (if at all) to just make things more bike and pedestrian friendly. Think before building! Meanwhile I do ask for more sensitivity by automobile and truck drivers, just as I try to show bikes and pedestrians when I'm driving my car. We just need to be alert and a little patient, that is the main thing. I was venting because they built Route 100, apparently without thinking about non-motorized transport, and they build Arundel Mills similarly without thinking (so it seems to me). Venting.

Yes, I have heard of them, thanks! I should join, but I am more of a loner.

Thanks for your perspective, George. I (Tina) have "only" lived in Elkridge 25 years, but I know enough people who grew up here to know it is a very small town at its heart! This will be very interesting.
